Aloha Friday! -Comfort Food

Photobucket

Yipee-ky-ay! It's Aloha Friday!

My Aloha Friday question is:

Today in the chilly state of Michigan, our temps with the wind chill are something like crazy like, -27! Ouch, you know so cold it hurts, cold. Brrrr... my aloha question is...

What's your favorite cold weather, winter comfort food?

Photobucket

My winter comfort food? Soup, soup, and more soup. Homemade. Mmmm. Potato is my soup of choice, but I'll take chicken noodle, bean soup, I'll even devour a good beef and lentil soup. With crusty bread. Oh, it's heaven in a bowl as it warms me up.

Head on over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday questions and to play.

Have a wonderful weekend & keep warm!
-Jen

  1. Great question. I have a cold theme question also. :)
I just made a hearty, yummy, beef vegetable soup last week. It really hit the spot. We also like homemade oatmeal. :)
    Enjoy the cold!!!!

  4. I make this light version of a French cassoulet and love it with warm bread and butter. It's easy to make it half veg for one daughter and add the sausage and meats, after I set aside some for her.I haven't made it in a while... today would be a perfect day if I can drag myself out in the cold to the store!

  18. When the weather is cold there is nothing better than soup. Just toss things into the crock pot and go. We made Minestrone the other day and may make another one soon. The best part is they are filled with veggies and low in points for me on WW. Stay warm!

  23. Well now that I'm watching my weight, soup works, but if it wasn't an issue I would have a huge plate of home made macaroni and cheese. I just love it. Obviously a little too much!
