Homemade Taco Seasoning

2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. oregano
dash of ground cayenne pepper {optional}
freshly ground black pepper & salt to taste

Stir seasoning with 1lb. browned meat and 1/2 cup or so of water. Simmer for 10 minutes.

No more buying the taco seasoning packets from the grocery store?

Works for me.

  4. Ooh, I'm going to try this. My husband buys the packaged stuff from the store and I don't really care for it that much. This will give me a great start on something "homemade"!

  5. I bet that is good!!! I always just use cumin instead of taco seasoning. But I bet this is super good... and all things I have. I may have to whip up some homemade taco seasoning!

  9. Looks good. I know the packaged stuff is really high in salt.

    I use this recipe for a Greek seasoning for pita wraps...yummy!
